As fine on the inside as the outside, it is powered by one of Patek Philippe's illustrious 9'90 movements, unquestionably among the finest hand-winding movements ever built. It was so well designed that Patek used it for more than 40 years!
The 9'90 is a tonneau shaped engine introduced in 1934 and was fitted into many famous Patek Philippe watches such as the "Banana" (ref. 2442), the "Eiffel Tower " (ref. 2441), and the "Tegolino". The engine of this watch is even stamped twice with the prestigious Poinçon de Genève.
It has all of its original Patek parts with the only potential exception being the seconds hand, which may be original or may be a replacement.
Its distinctive case presents in excellent condition. Its silver dial has been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America, and it still retains its original raised Patek Philippe enamel lettering.
Our Master Watchmaker, our highest level watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn movement components with Patek replacements, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).
